Keep Your Reed from Sliding Around

If you need to center your reed but it shifts around and won’t stay put in the beater groove, here’s a trick for you. Cut two rectangles of that rubber drawer liner or rug pad. Wrap the rubber piece around the bottom (as shown) a few dents from the edge of the reed. It will help hold the reed in place and keep it from sliding sideways.
